Green Hours, Distilling, Bottling Party, Baby!

It’s shaping up to be an action-packed month for Gnostalgic Spirits and Marteau!  So action-packed in fact that I’ve been remiss in my updates.  So, from the last-minute desk comes …

WTF Wednesday! Poster

TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, July 11

Join me at the Can Can Kitchen & Cabaret between 4:00 and 7:00 for a Marteau Green Hour, featuring sample tastes of Marteau and specially priced Marteau cocktails.  Then stick around for the show at 7:30.

WTF Wednesday! Outrageous, provocative and sexy would be an understatement for this avant garde variety show. Belly dancing, acrobatics, burlesque, cabaret, contraptions, & beautiful people galore!

BASTILLE DAY – SATURDAY, July 14th

Vive la France! Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité!  Join us at Sun Liquor Distillery on Capitol Hill for our Bastille Day Green Hour from 4:00 to 7:00. As usual, we’ll be pouring tastes of Marteau and featuring Marteau cocktails at Happy Hour prices!

OUT-OF-STATE UPDATE: NY, CA

I was expecting to have shipped a few batches of Marteau to New York last week, but delays on receiving supplies set the distillation back.  We’ll be distilling this Friday and bottling next Tuesday, so with any luck we can get that shipment out next week.

Also, I’m fairly certain I have a distributor lined up in California, so with any luck we’ll be doing a series of Green Hours down there before long!

ABOUT THAT BOTTLING PARTY …

The delays have obliged us to bottle as soon as possible, so instead of a weekend day, we’re doing it on Tuesday, July 17th, starting at 11:00 a.m..  We still new a few bodies to help out with corking, foiling, labeling, and packing, so if anyone is free during the day—bartenders, I’m looking at you—we’d be happy for the company.  We should be done in about three hours, and lunch is on me!

Willow EloiseLAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST …

I wasn’t going to mention this on my business blog, but pride trumps modesty. I am now officially an old guy.

On May 26th my daughter gave me my first grandchild, Willow Eloise, who is entirely glorious and flawless (in spite of her sharing my genes).  I flew to Cincinnati in time to spend one beautiful day going around to my old stomping grounds with my extremely pregnant daughter, Jessica, only to be awakened at 5:00 the next morning: it’s time!  I spent the next 17 hours at Jessica’s side—along with father, Nathan, of course.  Jessica’s mother, Nathan, and I were privileged to assist in the totally uncomplicated birth.  The last time I witnessed a birth was when Jessica was being born, so I had a total “Circle of Life” thing going on.  I couldn’t be more proud of either of my girls. I can get used to being a grandpa.

Cheers!
Gwydion
